-Rich only ate fruit when it was preserved in honey, or in other delicacies
-Veggies for poor were served in stew or pottage
-They ate grapes, onions, garlic, and leeks for veggies
-Diets for upper classes contained cinnamon, and cloves for spices, manchet bread, beef, pork, lamb, fish, shellfish, cheese, and fruits
-Peasants ate barley bread, pottage(stew), milk, cheese, beef, pork, lamb, rarely fish, homegrown veggies and herbs, fruit from trees or bushes, nuts, and honey

-Many roads were made from the old Roman roads
-When people made new roads, they connected ports, markets, and bridges
-The most important roads were usually where the pilgrims walked, like the road from Canterbury in London
-Medieval roads were usually just horse tracks
-Very hard for carts to get through

-Monasteries, such as Chertsey Abbey, hired people to maintain the roads
-In 1386, a man fell into a gap filled with water in the road. He drowned and the head Priest went to court. Not for the dangerous condition of the road, but because they man had drowned
