-No matter what you were,( peasent, knight, etc.) church pretty much dominated your life
-The church had its own laws, lands and taxes
-The church could also impose taxes
-They also recieved donations or gifts from people that wanted a good place in heaven
-Christianity began with a small number of Jews
-The Romans saw this as a threat because Christians refused to worship the Roman gods
-Many Christians were killed by the Romans
-When the Roman empire started crumbling and was in the dark ages, Christianity started to grow
-In 1054 there was the Great Schism
-The great Schism was when the Eastern and Western Catholic Churches had arguments over the crusades
-The Great Western Schism was caused by a man that had been elected and had established a papel court in Rome, this man's name was Pope Urban IV
-The French disagreed, so they elected a man that was based more on Avignon
-It was healed at the Council of Constance and the Catholic religion was referred as the Roman Catholic religion
-People still worship the Catholic and Christian religion

-Houses were built very close together and were made of timber
-In the center of town, there would be a Cathedral
-The cities had walls around it to keep enemies out
-Some wealthier people had indoor plumbing
-The houses leaned so much, that they touched across the street
-Earlier houses had thatched roofs
-Cold parts of Europe used log cabins
-Fine manors were where the rich lived
-Peasants had dirt floor one-roomed cabins
-Some families lived in "long houses" where they shared with other families
-Poor people stacked up stones and stuck them together using chink
-Thatched roofs were prohibited because of the fires they started in 1221

-Fuedilism contains three groups of people
-The Nobility(had all the power, only one person)
-The churches, and knights(the knights protected the lords and churches, the level of society had more people than the nobility
-The last social class would be the commoners or peasents(these people this all the work and were not treated very well, had the most population than alll of the social classes)
-The peasents would do work for their nobles, in exchange for protection
-It was all sort of like "I'll give you this, if you give me that"
-Europe created fuedilism after the Frankish Empire collappsed because everything was just chaos, there was fighting everywhere, and no one knew what to do, so presumably, they created Feudalism to restore order
